The Good of Now

The Good of Now

Genesis calls me back
With a new creation invitation

Simple phrases of affirmation
Spoken by the Creator-of-the-Universe

By example, He teaches
By example, He declares
Repeats it
Because it bears repeating
If anything ever did
This does
Six times in One

Look with the simplicity of Genesis
With a Genesis ear
Hear with a Genesis heart
With every word
That ever was
and is

and shall be
to choose from
He chose good

The Word Made Flesh says it is good
now and forever more

And I am called back
In the lines and phrases, the poetry of Book One, Chapter One
into the goodness of Now
Moved by the power and majesty of
In the beginning the words
Were simple
Truth

Right Now: State Of Change

wpid-20150315_140708-1.jpg

Right Now

Every shadow punctuates
Dots the landscape of now
With littered limbs of memory
Brought down in the cleansing
Bold strokes of every shade of grey
Written under the swirls of then and right here
Blink, they move

Sub-plot and backstory
Read from back to front
And between all lines

Hieroglyphics and dead languages
Signing with fingers from the sun’s burning
Rays
Written in plain sight

The story requires an interpreter
My eyes behold the pages
Written for today

A Wink, A Blink and A Nod: Guest Post at A Field Of WIldflowers, #SmallWonder Link Up

hat on the boat

Today I am guest posting at Kelly Chripczuk’s blog, A Field Of Wildflowers. Join me, won’t you?  I am honored to be joining this beautiful community this morning for their #SmallWonder link up. My words begin like this…

I am measuring beauty and grace in increments of fragmented seconds. Small flakes of wonder, and flecks of time the size of a radish seed are grabbing and holding my attention, turning my chin with fingers, with skin. The hand of God calls me to look. The Trinity corals me into a hemmed in place for my soul to rest. ( to  read the rest of A Wink, A Blink and A Nod click here.

Now

donkey 1Now looks radiant, dressed in white, holy moment

Pregnant with possibility

Hope

Expectant flesh and bone

Deliverer of new life, new mercies

And she is fragile, tender,  a living breathing paradox

She must be opened, spent

Used up, poured out to manifest her full worth

What is not gathered up and lived out, does not roll over

And accumulate in

A pile of tomorrow,

No gathering of nows,  saved and stockpiled

For a four week vacation

Now beats to the rhythm of sweet urgency

Though a lady

She waits for all to come to her, in the tick tock minutes

As hands on clock can not keep still

They must swing around, keep the beat

Clockwise, clock steady

So now

Compels us to be fully present in the sea of possibility

Open the curtain, unwrap

The crinkle bright shiny of her dressing,

New

Unveil the waiting

And live with her, rejoicing.

Now.

Creating beauty out of the given.

Seeking the buried right under the surfaces of her linen coverings

Wrapping our hearts in the warmth of her pleasant embrace.

Looking for all that hangs from the tree of her offering

For the picking, the gracious taking

And the generous release

Now are the days of our lives

Now are the days of our full blown living

God gifts generously as this earth turns, tides break, and hearts beat

All eyes on her, spotlight shines bright on her

Center stage

Act one begins

The play of life

The times of your lives

Thank and live

In the Advent of our nows

And stand with loud applause

Sing sweet praise

At all that is

Worthy of a hallelujah chorus

Of praises

Now.
